Heavy Float

Heavy isn't a problem as long as the moulding and backing boards are strong enough the support the weight. How thick and how heavy? Looks like it could be hinged with strong jumbo hinges over an 8-ply rag then mounted with 3M JetMelt 3797 hot glue, PVA or Beva, if you like.

Lascaux 360 might make a good contact adhesive for it. That would be chemically stable, reltively inert, and chemically-removable well into the future.

How about using perimeter hinges to attach it to a slightly-undersized mounting board of 4-ply-alphacellulose-lined Coroplast?

You didn't mention which BEVA adhesive you are considering...not a heat-activated one, I hope. Heat could be very bad for an acrylic painting.

It is only about 1/16" thick, I say it's heavy because I was surprised by its weight when I picked it up. I'm not sure how much it weighs. I think I'll do the jumbo hinges. Thanks for all the replies, don't worry Jim I wouldn't dream of using heat to mount this painting!
