I've been wondering if anyone out there offers float frames in rustic or primitive finishes.
Am familiar with the float frames from LJ, Nurre Caxton, Roma & Studio, but I've been
wishing there were more options available.

Along the lines of this frame by Nurre Caxton. It has a great, matte finish,
with just a bit of wear. I'd probably like one with even more of a worn look.

I suppose one might mill this, as it's such a simple shape, but am curious as
to what else is out already out there. Also, whether there are any floater
frames that have actual design detail on the front edge.

Don't forget you can make your own floater out of any moulding of suitable depth by mounting the painting to a board that is larger all around by the desired offset, and making spacers of desired depth to hold that toward the back of the frame's depth. Essentially, a shadowbox with no glass. Usually I do the spacers to match the board (often black for both), but they can be contrasted too for a different effect.

Thanks, All.

Pat, while I said I was familiar with Roma, your note points up the weakness
inherent in relying on a regional supplier to provide a line of moulding. We have
accounts with both Roma and our supplier, who carries a lot of it, but I had
no idea that the Palio line had these floaters. Just spent time looking through
the Palio collection on their site, and while I have most of it, there are several
I wasn't aware of.

The difference being, while I'm at work, rushing around in a hectic buzz of
activity, there's not much time to look up websites and browse for what's
available. But, just now, sitting at home in my jammies and baseball cap,
time isn't a problem. Thanks, again, for the suggestion.
