Someone posted in the past that one could use Wizard software to run a Fletcher 6100. Has any one tried this with success?

I really like my F-6100, but wish we could have improved software. It was very good when it was developed, but the industry has progressed to newer & better.

The Fletcher folks have talked about adapting someone else's software to the F-6100. Perhaps they could adapt the Valiani software, which would be wonderful.

But nothing has happened yet, as far as I know. No doubt a computer wiz could do a personal adaptation, but then I doubt Fletcher would support it. If any problem came up, it would be not their problem.

I wanted to give this old thread a bump.

I recently bought one of the old Fletcher 6100's, complete with all the most recent software updates. The machine itself is GREAT. It's built like an elegant cross between a Sherman Tank and a Swiss watch. The software, on the other hand....sucks!

I know I'm spoiled. I'm a Photoshop expert, and I'm used to working with the latest, greatest, most sophisticated graphics software in the world.

I'm sure the Fletcher was the cat's meow when it was new, but I have to say I'm just appalled at how awful the software for it is. I'm sure that when it was first built it was incredibly groundbreaking, but that was almost 10 years ago (practically the dark ages when it comes to computers)

It's SO clunky. It's incredibly frustrating when you're trying to create anything more than the most simple designs.

Have no third party vendors endeavored to write software to drive it? Why not?

Anyone know how many 6100's there are, floating around out there? How much of a market is there for an updated version of the software?

F6100 - Designs

Len,
On the F6100 you don't design within it's own software, at least if you want to stay sane. You design in a CAD program and import it into the F6100.

So put away your Photoshop and learn a CAD program.
