What is the difference between the 2100 and 2200 Fletcher mat cutter? Is the parts, blades, etc. still out there for the 2100? Thanks.

Not much difference really. The cutting head(straight side) is different. The cut capacity is deeper(1/2").The handle on the clamp has changed,it`s oval not squared. And the measuring scales are high visability yellow, and more pin holes in the width guide(up to 8").Other than that, they are identical, and MOST parts are interchangeable. The same manufacturing equipment is used to make both machines. This info direct from the customer service dept. Both cutter`s parts are on the on-line catalog, and can be ordered there(For the 2100,look under discontined link on the catalog list).Any questions you have can be answered by contacting customer service...Which TOTALLY Rocks,BTW...Not that I`m partial or anything- :) L.R.

Luddite gave a good description of the differences.

The 2200 design is simply a refinement of the 2100 design. Both machines work similarly and cut beautiful mats. Both machines are durable and require little maintenance.

I guess the 2100, which was produced for quite a while, may be the most popular straight-line mat cutting machine on the planet. As such, parts probably will be available for a good long time. Hope so... I have a 60" model 2100 in my shop.
