Here's the project: Two nylon flags to be displayed in a single frame.
One is the US flag and the other is an Olympic flag (five colored rings on white). Both flags are same size:approx 4.2x8ft. Finished frame need to occupy a horizontal space approx 3x5ft.Customer went home to collect other items to fill and balance the space. Flags smelled musty so I sent customer to the best place in town for cleaning. Flags have been outdoors and are worn.

I'm thinking of taking a photograph of each flag against a blue sky and including the photos in the package. We may have a large engraved plate included in the package. Not sure what else may turn up.

OK....here's my issue and why I'm seeking help.
The protocol for folding the American flag is well defined. When folded I see it about about 18” at the base and 12” high.
Customers desires the Olympic flag to be folded so part of each colored ring shows. I see it about 38" wide and 24" high.
How should I mount up each flag and how can I give the American Flag a position of importance when the Olympic flag is going to be much larger.

The protocol for displaying an American flag dictates that it should be placed above everything else in the frame. Of course, sometimes customers have different ideas, in which case we do what the customer wants, but at least we make sure their decisions are properly informed.

American flag in upper left, Olympic flag on right, slightly below center. The lower right corner of the American flag should be over the lower left corner of the Olympic flag. If you put the "other stuff" below the American flag it will lend weight to it. That, plus it's vertical prominence should provide the importance it deserves.

There may be some origami software out there that could show you how to fold the Olympic Flag so that the rings show. Me personally I can't think of any way to do that :)

The placement of the flags you will work out with your customer of course. Let me offer this information, we can make you custom holders for each flag that will allow you to place the folded flag wherever it looks best in the frame. I know I should know how to add pictures of the holder, but I since I don't please give me a call or email me and I will send you a picture of the holder. Email: acrylicbylois@gmail.com
