Ron, before you get all uppity again, let me begin by saying that I received the Evald catalogue today and it looks good. I will try a shipment of their readymades. However, I still need some new sources for nice wide finished corner readymades besides JFM and Kendall. Anyone have a reccomendation?

Diane and Pat,

Help me out here. By 'finished corner' frames, do you mean 'closed corner frames?'

If so, Gemini can't help you. Either can Evald.

Ron, I do mean closed corner. If anyone uses JFM, I want something similar to their numbers 051-2032, 328G, and 051-2022 for starters. Honestly, if I can find readymades out of 3.5-5" wide moulding in a fairly flat profile I would be happy with that as well. I sell these for a lot of paintings on canvas, generally 16" x 20" up to 36" x 48". Occasionaly when I have a show and an artist shows up with the bulk of their work unframed, they are willing to pay for readymades. Most artists cannot afford to custom frame a large number of pieces at once, and they have shown up with some pretty atrocious readymades. I won't hang anything in the gallery that is poorly framed, because I don't want my clients to think we framed it! The wider mouldings set the artwork off well and if we keep the profiles fairly consistent the show looks a lot more inviting. JFM has great frames, and they offer lots of sizes, but they never seem to have what I need when I need it. I want to have backup. I buy a few from Decor, but they don't have a wide selection of profiles or sizes.

Ron,

The Abe Munns' that I mentioned are their economical (relatively) ready made closed corner line. They seem to fit Diane's request.

Aftre going through a search on this subject and browsing through my Decor Sources, I ordered several catalogues. I just got my Tara catalogue. The frames look great. They don't have quite as many sizes available as JFM, but most of the popular sizes are there. We'll see what stock and shipping are like. I'll contact Munn as well.
