I need replacement felt pads for a Pistorius manual v-nailer. Pistorius has gone out of business and I am having a hard time tracking pads down. Any ideas or sources? Thanks.

Use any soft pads you can find. I sometimes use a dense rubber pad. Cut them to your desired size.

I use velcro to stick the pad to the metal. One part on the vnailer, the other on the pad. It keeps it in place and the pressure of the vnailer in use keeps it from moving out of position.

Contact ITW-AMP. Pads should be close to the same. Another thing you can do is go to a carpet store and get felt carpet pad. With the felt carpet pad you can cut your own pads and a square yard of the felt carpet pad will last you a life time - I have made my own and the felt carpet pad works great. Just a thought. Joe B

At your local hardware store there is a section where they sell things like casters and furniture glides. There are felt pads with adhesive backing that come in diameters from 1" to about 2.5". I stick them to fender washers of the same diameter which hold them to the magnetic upper clamp bar on my VN2+1 vnailer. I just made a couple of 2" ones, one with a single layer of felt pad, and one with a double layer. They work great. You may have to augment the adhesive with contact cement or something similar.

On my VN-42 I use cut up mouse pads. Just the right amount of give and just ATG'd to the rubber pad above. One cut up mouse pad will last a long time. I have replaced them about once a year

I stared using them because the regular rubber pads were denting some delicate mouldings. The mouse have a little give so they don't dent them.
