I have to tell you that More suppliers are using Fed-ex. But the damage rate with them has been huge. Has anyone else gotten this type of service out of them? Maybe it is just the Ohio Distribution center?
I have had damage of 4 out of the last 5 deliveries from them. Had two claims denied because they said it was not packed adequately. Same packaging as the rest. I am going to start to specify no FED-EX. not worth the time to try and get resolve.
I feel better now.

Wow, I hope that's a local problem. I normally specifically request FedEx because UPS service is horrible and slower than slow. I'll bet the service by all of them varies by location, drivers, etc.

Damage

In this neck of the woods, in my experience anyway, UPS damages WAY more things than USPS or Fed Ex.

The majority of my vendors still use UPS. Contrary to a lot of youze guys, I have had very few problems with mangled shipments.

My understanding is the USPS has contracted with FedEx for their overnight shipping, so that the rate of damaged goods should be similar with USPS and FedEx.

Must be local but to see a crushed package or one with a hole in it!~
It just makes me Peeed off!~
When you get a 5"x5"x36" box in & one end is smashed flat makes you not want to accept it. But then you know you need what is in it!~
UPS has gotten slow!` Overnight package to Ohio from Seattle 4 days (okay, Seattle had bad storm, weather) But Three days from Chicago to Ohio? I have to say none were crushed, tore open or had holes in them.

Fed Ex now offers 2 types of service.
Fed Ex Ground, Fed Ex Express.
For shipping out customer artwork, we use Fed Ex Express enclusively. Never had a problem. We refuse to ship out ground on either Fed Ex or UPS. Seem the ground services get handled more/ dropped more and treated too rough.
Out In-coming moulding and supplies come via anybody but UPS is the most common. Very few problems with deliveries.

Guess I need to send a Thank You note to our UPS and FexEx distribution centers. They do a good job, because our stuff arrives promptly and is in good condition almost always (hope I haven't jinxed anything important with that statement!)

What options are available for shipping in California? FedX, UPS and California Overnight?

I have heard the either UPS or FEDX ownes Califonria Overnight and that CAO is the non-union shipper in the mix? Any information on that from those in Arnold Land? We have had little damage from CAO they own up to those few damaged shipments. Oh, "Overnight" does not really mean overnight but close.
