Facebook Issue

I've been trying to access Facebook all afternoon.
After several tries it now says the account is locked.
Also says most likely because I logged onto a site that looked like Facebook.
IT now wants to walk me through security questions and change password.
I'm suspicious of this last notice.
Suggestions?

That seems weird. Do you any device where you’re always logged in?

Good advice. I'd change the pw from a different device that is already signed in, like a tablet or cell phone.

This smells a bit like a phishing effort and that helpful I.T. may well be trying to acces your personal info. Mike'S advice sounds good to me but if that doesn't work make sure you are really talking to someone from Facebook before you let them change anything on your page or, especially on your computer.

For me, Facebook is an easy way to stay in touch with family and friends overseas.
It is not bad, if you know how to use it wisely.

Yes, as per the good Grumble advice used a different computer and changed password.
