I used their software to paste a badge for facebook onto my blog - no problemo - but then they said copy this code and paste it in to other websites:

<!-- Facebook Badge START --><a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Buffalo-NY/State-of-the-Art/139278945772" title="State of the Art" target="_TOP" style="font-family: &quot;lucida grande&quot;,tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif; font-size: 11px; font-variant: normal; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; color: #3B5998; text-decoration: none;">State of the Art</a><br/><a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Buffalo-NY/State-of-the-Art/139278945772" title="State of the Art" target="_TOP"><img src="http://badge.facebook.com/badge/139278945772.1783.1540461679.png" width="120" height="225" style="border: 0px;" /></a><br/><a href="http://www.facebook.com/business/dashboard/" title="Make your own badge!" target="_TOP" style="font-family: &quot;lucida grande&quot;,tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif; font-size: 11px; font-variant: normal; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; color: #3B5998; text-decoration: none;">Promote Your Page Too</a><!-- Facebook Badge END -->

All I got was that paragraph of gobbledygook. Any suggestions? :icon9:

If I recall, in another thread, you mentioned using Frontpage. There should be a way to switch the view from layout mode to code view. Once in there, you can find the area you want the badge and paste the code.

It might be easiest to insert some dummy text while in the layout view, then search for it in the code view. That way you don't spend all day looking for the right place.

Well, I made a space with some text, went to the HTML version of the page, deleted the sample text and pasted in the code.

Same result - big block of code on my page.

Hmmmmm - I wonder if some of the bits at the beginning and end are supposed to be removed?

The part at the begining and end are comments and don't serve any function but to the programmer to let them know what the section is doing.

Can you post a link to your site and I will look at the code and tell you where I would put it.

Here is where I would try it to see what happens.

Here is your code...

<P align="center" style="margin-left: 10"><font size="4">
<a href="http://tiltingatwoodpeckers.blogspot.com/">
http://tiltingatwoodpeckers.blogspot.com/</a> </font></P>
<P align="center" style="margin-left: 10">
<a target="_blank" href="lifesm.htm">
<img border="0" src="LIFE/LIFE227A.jpg" width="300" height="130"></a></P>
<P align="center" style="margin-left: 10">
DROP IT HERE
<img border="0" src="350_project_200x177.jpg" width="200" height="177">&nbsp;</P>
<P align="center" style="margin-left: 10">

It should pop up somewhere in between the LIFE badge and the 350

Mar:

This is what I see when I save the text to an html file (open notepad, copy and paste. Save the file as "whatever.html" (with the quote marks)

Thanks, boys - I will try again over the weekend - having too dang much fun on Facebook tonight to actually work! LOL!

Come on , I need an update...closure!!!!

Did it work?

I spent the whole weekend working on my business site, locating, editing and adding photos. Too pooped to think about adding that badge.

And just now I got a message "Firefox unable to locate server at www.facebook.com" - that does not sound good at all!

Facebook has been in and out for the last few weeks, it is probably not your computer this time. I couldn't get on for most of yesterday.
