Fabric Mat

I am getting ready to cut my first fabric mat on my Valiani and was wondering if there is anything I should look out for doing this. Like cut face up or down or anything tricky?

Practise a small cut out first. Yes, you waste a little of the mat, but I do that when I haven't cut a particular mat before. (so I hope you don't need the full mat for this job!)
Make sure you use new blade.

I experiment with various types of boards to find the ideal cut depths, and have made a handy reference chart. Saves lots of time when doing production.
