Hi, I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for fabric choice and why to use as backing for framing a silk scarf in this fashion. I was thinking of a velvet/ velour type so as to have some "tooth" for added gripping? we are using crc acrylic and the border is 1.5" (black) total frame size 36x36"

Thanks
Mike

Even with crc acrylic- silk and light are not an optimal long-term combination :)

Are you using DCO to hold the scarf in place? Sewing it down? What is the substrate the fabric will be attached to? Are you "assuming" that the acrylic and backing will remain rigid and apply even pressure across the entire scarf?

At this stage of your design, the fabric choice is the least of your worries......:)

I am looking to use the DCO or AOM as I see it in Jim Millers article (pfm june 09). assembled ingredients are tempored masonite cut to frame size / 8 ply rag scarf size all covered with polyester batting / topped with fabric -scarf -acrylic.
