Our Fletcher F-6100 CMC is available for sale.

It's a very good and reliable machine, gently used and well maintained. It was built in October 1998, SN 30024. It was delivered in April 1999 and has been used in our shop for the past 9 years. It has had regular maintainance and has only had to have one $5 drive belt and a 25 cent indicator lamp replaced in it's lifetime.

It sold new for $24,000.

I'm about to post this on Ebay next week. Wanted to bring this up here before exposing it to a wider audience.

Any questions - please write. Thanks,

John

New in '99 and nothing replaced? That's one old computer running this puppy!

Actually wish I were closer, and had the money handy. Good luck selling it!

John, be sure to let us know how that eBay sale goes. I have considered doing that, too, but I believe such a specialized machine would be better appreciated in a forum like this one. If you are pleased with the results, I may follow suit.

Sounds like a good deal.

If this was for sale on the West Coast I'd be very interested but the shipping out to Vancouver BC is almost as much as you're asking for the machine. For now I'll keep looking. If anyone hears on one for sale on the Westcoast (from California to BC) i'd be interested in knowing about it.

Well...it's now listed on Ebay

Jim,

After watching that Wizard draw 37 bids and a winning bid of $8,210 I figured that I'd go ahead and give Ebay a try...

F-6100 CMC Listing on Ebay

TO Graeme in BC Canada.
It cant possibly cost USD 6000 to ship from Wisconsin to you!
You can send a 20 foot container from Wisconsin to China for less than that!
If you are genuinely interested I suggest you ask John to give you a freight rate.
You maybe pleasantly surprised!

Jim,

So far, so good. With 5 full days remaining on a 10 day listing, we've had over 230 views and 23 folks are "watching". If two or three are seriously interested, then we'll see some activity in the last 24 hours. :)

John

btw Graeme, I don't think that freight to BC would be much over $500-600 actually, including packing.

John:

I may not get a chance to try an eBay sale. A framer from the other end of the county just gave me a hefty deposit with a promise to come back with a truck this weekend.

Darn, I'm gonna miss this old workhorse. Maybe he'll let me visit once in a while and cut a mat, just for old times' sake.
:icon20:

PS: Meanwhile, I'm getting acquainted with the Valiani. Nice machine. Did you know it will cut text in English as well as Italian?

48 hours and counting...

Jim, Glad to hear that you sold your F-6100. I know that it's tempting to keep a solid machine that is still working, but I'm sure that you were in the same straights that I am - NO SPACE.

With less than 2 days to go, we note 26 folks are "watching" this item on Ebay and we've had over 340 visits to this listing. I've thought about lowering the reserve, but after careful consideration...NO. The machine simply works too well!

Just a "back to the top" for those with potential interest.

If it could be shipped to BC for around 500 then i would be interested... i guess i'll have to wait to see what happens on Ebay, but yeah if I could get it here for 500-600 then I would really be interested.

Details to follow....

Graeme,

I've already spoken to a friend who runs a "serious" packaging/shipping business and would love to crate this for me. I'll get the exact weight and dimensions and post those here or on the Ebay listing. Feel free to phone Mark for a quote on crating and shipping as he does this all the time. Mark Kintz - The Packaging Store: 920-738-7710

Our framer friend, John Gornall in Campbell River, BC is also an owner of an F-6100 so he might recall what he paid for freight to have it shipped to Canada.

Will get back to you today.

John

Seattle is a better option...

Graeme,

Just checking on the details....

The original Crate around the F-6100 measured 87Lx24Wx78H approximately and weighed in at #750 loaded with the machine. Checking with my packing and shipping fellow, this would run approximately $937 to ship to Seattle plus crate costs (~$300).

Obviously Seattle would be a better bet than into BC for expenses. This an FYI.

Cheers,

John

Relisted on Ebay...

No bids, so it's now relisted with a lower price...

F-6100 CMC on Ebay.

This time it has got to sell....

While on vacation, my last listing drew over 450 looks and some additional serious inquiries, but only one bid.....

I can't dicker around with this any longer. My new Fletcher-Valiani CMC is being delivered in two weeks, so this Fletcher F-6100 has got to sell now! I've relisted it with the same reduced opening bid and NO RESERVE!

This is your chance to walk away with an absolute bargain. It can be picked up - placed into the back of a full sized pickup truck, straped and tarped. Or if you require it to be shipped, I have access to an original case for $300.00

Let the bidding begin.... F-6100 CMC on Ebay. Mr. Miller sold his for $6,000 and the opening bid on this one is only $3,200!

Graeme....at this pricing, you can afford the crate and the shipping to British Columbia!

Hey John

If your cutter drew a bid but didn't meet the reserve, I'd contact the previous bidder to see if they're still willing to purchase for that amount. Sounds like its the same as your auction is listed for now.

Let me know how you like your new one!

Let's see what happens...

Hi Janet,

Indeed - I thought about this and contacted this one bidder along with 8 others who inquired directly via emails. I held off as I know the machine is worth more and figure I'll see what open bidding brings this time. :)

Thanks,

John

John,

Does he unit use a USB or a proprietary card. If a card what type of interface ISA, PCI, other???

The reason I'm asking is to consider if it would run with a newer motherboard running XP. USB or PCI it should work.

framer

F-6100 computer

Framer,

This particular F-6100 is running on it's built-in PC - Windows 95. Other models run on Windows 98se. The software as I understand it will not run on Windows XP.

I would suggest speaking with Mark or Chuck at the CMC Doctors as they are extremely familiar with updated conversions on F-6100's as well as other CMCs.

Their new office phone number is 801-405-6300 - I just got off the phone with Chuck.

John

ALL of the CMC's on the market today use a proprietary motion controller to translate PC instructions into motor movements.

The motion controller in a Fletcher F-6100 a PC-104 motion controller. PC-104 is compact version of the ISA spec. This type of interface is normally used in industrial computers. This card can be moved out of the cabinet on the F-6100 into a an external PC by using an adapter board. The motherboard must have an ISA slot. State-of-the art motherboards are still manufactured with ISA slots - you just can't buy them a BEST BUY or CompUSA.

Drivers are available for Windows XP for the F-6100 motion controller.

All of this is available from The CMC Doctor - check or our website under "Upgrades".

Mark,

Thanks for your input to framer's question. Enjoyed speaking to Chuck on the phone. Glad to hear all is well.

This CMC is going to sell in less than 48 hours and the price is right! Ebay listing: F-6100 CMC. Bidding ends at 8:52am EST on Tuesday!

Found a new home in Ohio!

Sold!

My F-6100 will make the journey to a a shop in Ohio in the next 10 days. This will be an emotional goodbye  as this CMC has served us so well for the past 9 years.

For anyone still renting their CMC or anyone who doesn't have a CMC at this point, I have another bargain on the table. I have in my shop currently a loaner Fletcher-Valiani Mat Pro CMC from Fletcher that is being offered at $7,500. It sold new for $12,900.

It will be shipped back to Connecticut on June 2-3, unless someone wants to grab it while it is in the Midwest.

Here is an example of what the machine looks like - This is a picture of the exact same machine as being used in the shop of John & Robin Noyes in Topsham, Maine.

Please contact me directly or Fletcher-Terry if you're interested in this one year old CMC.

Regards,

John

Great Evening!

Sarah and I spent dinner with a very lovely couple who drove 470 miles from Ohio today to pickup their F-6100 CMC. We'll be packing it up in the morning for the 9 hour drive home. What a great deal they got, but we are honestly happy that our loyal machine of 9 years will be in good hands to very nice folks.

Also....the FT MatPro CMC is now also sold and will be picked up by framers from Savage, Minnesota on Sunday morning.

Wow... for two - three days we will be without a CMC, for the first time since 1999. What will we do for those two days until our new Fletcher-Valiani Future - Supreme shows up?

Moving on....

John
