today i came up with a brilliant use for my AttachEZ - I had a tea towel to mount in the center of a piece of foam core and it had a mat. How to keep this slippery, slightly wrinkled towel in place for the press?

I cut the mat first, then centered the towel with mounting tissue underneath, then used the AttachEZ to secure it in the corners and every four inches or so around the edges (to be covered by the mat).

Voila - no slippage at all in the mounting press and perfectly mounted towel in no time!

Again - thanks to Pat!!!

That is one of my favorite things about what we do.
Having to come up with a "Macgyver" solution to a problem.
Even after 42 years that's a major part of what keeps me still excited about the job.

I totally agree with Neilframer. One of the things I say around the shop when a solution to an atypical hurdle is discovered is " I could have been an engineer if I had only applied myself".

On the same line, another use is to fasten encapsulated documents to backing boards when you are using mats to cover the edges. A couple of Micro fasteners in the top of the encapsulation will prevent it from slipping even if the tape dries out. The Fine Fabric half inch fasteners are good for holding the foamboard float mount bases onto the backing or mat boards as well. If you put one fastener in each corner , you will never have to worry about the float mount base slipping or letting go.

Nice tip Pat........Have I mentioned lately how much I love the Grumble?

LOVE the Encapsulation trick! Been doing a lot of encapsulation lately and I was thinking of a way for extra protection. Going to add that one to bag of tricks, Thanks Pat
