We have a customer with a large (96" x 64") quilt. We've spliced matboard together for the backing and attached it to the backing. We planned on using plexiglass. The objective is to protect it. Two questions: Is there anything any of you can think of to use besides plexi? And if not, where would you go to get plexi 100" x 68"?

(We found a place that sells it, but they seem unable to produce it picture frame quality. Now, 6 weeks after ordering it and 2 sheets later, it has gouges and scratches and dirt and is unusable.)

I look forward to your very creative and problem solving responses.

Have you contacted Cyro? Don't know their largest limit, but that's who I'd go to to get a really big piece (of course there's a plant less than 20 miles from me!)

Their web page lists distributors in CO, UT and NV.

I read somewhere, maybe on the CYRO website, that they can cut you a piece 20 feet wide by 40 feet long. That would be oversize on the truck shipping by the way.

I assisted in framing the whole side of a race car. The plexi was 4 1/2 feet high and almost 12 ft long. The shipping cost more than the material.

I am confused.............are you having a problem with a distributor who is handling (mishandling)
the sheet plex.......or are you having a problem with the manufacturer of the plex.

JFeig, we had/have a distributor. They keep messing up. I am looking for an alternative distributor or alternative glazing technique.
