A huge thank you to all the super helpful people here who answered my framing questions over the last couple of years. After countless hours of work I finally just finished my first photographic exhibition. I did my own printing and my own framing including making custom frame mouldings from raw timber. Twenty six pictures. All archival materials and techniques. Some shots of the frames on here:

Excellent photos!

They remind me of a conversation I had with a nature photographer a while back. He was telling me about how frequently people would comment on how "lucky" he was to have captured all those birds and other wildlife at just the right moment. He had to point out to them it wasn't exactly luck. He had to sit for hours while the wildlife went about their business and the shots required hair trigger reflexes on his part.

Thanks Bruce, appreciated. Yes he is correct on all counts. I like the saying 'the more I practice the luckier I get'. There's lots of New Zealand bird photography on my website and also a video on our shorebirds I made if you're into that sort of thing: www.bennettart.nz
