Excuse me while i pour out a little more WHINE

What I can not understand is the billions of dollars that where collected from all over the country, and the world, to help the Katrina survivors, what happened to it? It seems, at least from where I am, that little, if any, of this money is actually getting to the people who need it. Somehow, I think a lot of big wigs have just gotten a whole lot richer as a result of this disaster.

John I don't know exactly what amount of money you are refering to or where it all was collected but the loss is truly amazing.

I often think about things like the Tsunami and how we felt slighted when it was said that we didn't contribute enough.I know what we did contribute was stagering. But are we SURE that it was enough even with all everyone else sent? I think I now understand the "out of sight out of mind " phrase. I don't think much about Sirlanka anymore but I'll bet they still need.

The astounding thing is they had So LITTLE to replace comparatively. I mean even our poorest had more than some of their better off. Now consider what it would take to replace Sirlanka's needs if they all were as affluent as we are in the USA.

My point is that the "throwing money at a problem " remedy is what we have grown to belive solves all problems .However we don't stop to realize what a total destruction ( and it was that,no less than a Tsunami) can cost.

I got a startilling realization when My flood insurer on my home asked me to list the entire contents of my home ( down to each pair of socks) and their age and net worth.
In reality I got a few revalations. First HOW MUCH possesions we owned. Try as we may we came up with 14 pages and even though we did very well repeatedly we forgot some things.
Next they only allowed the depreciated value which frighten us into beliveing that we wouldn't be able to compile a large enough list to warrant the $100,000 for contents we were insured for.

Well we were wrong ,we passed it up and as I said forgot to list things. And mind you that was for one house .The other ( which we also owbed but where our son lived)had only $10,000 for contents which didn't come close. And My mother-in-law had no insureance at all and our shop was insured but not for Flood losses. So stop and figure out what just the contents of our cumlitive homes would amass to ,and we had much more flood coverage than a lot of folks.

Now consider that a lot of those who weren't insured relied on FEMA and others charity and the way I hear it only about 40% of the homes in St.Bernard were covered for Floods. So where did all that cash come from? You guessed it your tax and charitable dollars.

This wasn't Loaves and Fishes it didn't multiply in dwindled and fast.

But add to that what I tryed to explain to you ,there were all sorts of people trying to cash in on the disastor, some legally some unethically and some both illegally and unethically and not all were Governmental carpet baggers either some where good ole US business people who saw away to make a buck, and then there were those petty thievs that came like jackals to scronge of the carion.

But make no mistake even if it were expertly manage and very generiously given it will take an awful lot for a much longer time then anyone imagined. I know I am shocked and I am proud and astounded of what some have done and are doing to recover and what they are tolerateing in the mean time.

I'll take one last swipe at that dead horse.
Just this morning I received a phone call from none other than Tunisia Simmons, who was extremly obligeing. She informed me that she and her superiors had recently received an email that I had posted on TFG . And because of it Golden Eagle's supervision had decided to refund all payments withdrawn from my account as of September and to also reemburse the BUY-OUT payment I had made to stop those same payments.

She made no mention of which supervisors or higher management and no mention of all MY emails and or Phone calls. It was also amazing that Ms. Simmons was the one who called instead of all the managerial people I had tryed to contact.Maybe the mentioning of her previous attitude had something to do with that, but the change was nothing short of a miracle. She even was completely understanding when I warned that she might still get a call from the La. AG office and she should advise them of Golden Eagle's differance of opinion and handleing.

I am still not sure what actually lead to this transformation and complete about face, especially since the information that she said changed their minds had been in their posession from the beginning.

But what she did say ( and made a special effort to) was that they received it from Maryann Shirk .So Once agin thanks Maryann. I have learned a few things from you. However I wish to thank all of you, since I know for a fact that they read the entire TFG thread and couldn't help but be impressed with the show of support and understanding.

This just proves that when Framers act in a close association and in numbers they can obtain results that a single individual ,no matter how knowledgeble or affluent, can't begin to accomplish .
Thank you all and don't forget the others in this area who don't have support like yours.

I hope my predicaments and their causes and remidies have in some way helped all of you,as I know the group effort did me.
