Hello,
I am new to the board. I have a Euro underpinner, which has gone out of business. Rather than spend 3000 for a new one in these tough economic times, does anyone know of any place selling parts and more importantly....STAPLES?

Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance.

I, too, have an underpinner whose company folded about 15 minutes after we got ours. I don't know if it is a Euro or not, but we do have a source for vnails. Give me a call this afternoon at work 301-745-5423 and we will talk. I am not scheduled to be in until about lunch time, it being my 'day off'....

John Knoell was the US distributor for Euro but he was in ill health and they closed their doors last year. I bought a set of extension tables for my 9009 from his wife but I doubt that you will find much now.

I have their phone number at work but that was probably disconnected when they closed.

I do wish you good luck though. Roboframer may have some leads for you across the pond. Maybe he will chime in here soon.

the universal wedges from LJ work fine in my Euro (page 46 in thier supply catalog) have been using them for 5 years now.

I use non- euro wedges in my table top 9000 (same one as yours Tom - I've seen it in some of your photos)

This info is in Prospero's link anyway but my Nielsen rep (who other Nielsen reps have christened 'Goldon Bollocks' as he has brought them about 90 new accounts from the company he used to work for that went bust - and is 45% up on his sales targets) - can get pretty much any spare - definitely springs and hammers - his details are in the link and I'm sure he would be up for some international business.

Doncha wonder why a company who made such a stout workhorse of an underpinner went South?? I have yet to see any other underpinner that was built on the order of this one, the hold down shaft must be a good 2" in diameter solid steel shaft and the arm coming off that shaft is all of 3/4" thick solid steel that is probably 3" wide!! That nut on the top takes a wrench that I used to use on my farm tractor and plowing/tilling equipment back in my horse days.

These other v-nailers are like toys against a Euro, what caused them to close up shop??

John, maybe you have some information on your end of the pond??

Regarding the V-nails, most any 10.5 mm universal V-nail will work well in a Euro. And they are very readily available from a number of sources in this country. Just don't try to stuff a stack of 11mm into that slot, ..... won't fit, ....... uh uh!!

Well Microcom was the name of the company that made the euro range of underpinners and they were either affiliated with, or owned by, a company named 'Euro Mouldings' - who went bust and took microcom with them.

Euro Moulding's head office was 6 miles from me - they had two other UK branches. I was weaned by them but quickly realised they were probably the most expensive supplier in the country - you could get hardware for less at the DIY stores.

Then the MD died prematurely and the sales manager bought the business. It all went downhill after that, especially when an article in a national paper's color supplement, where she stated that framing was 'easy' - etc etc was quoted in one of our trade mags!

I love my euro 9000! After I bought mine Gerald Ledsome of Ledsome Saw(www.ledsome.com) started distributing them. He tells me the factory was burned down in some riots in France and the owners decided to take the insurance money and retire. Last time I saw him he said he was going to start manufacturing some parts for his customers that needed them. I've been using the universal vnails from united with good results.

I recently bought a Euro 8200 manual underpinner, and have not been able to get reply for queries about supplies or instructions from any quarter. I also was told that the manufacturer closed shop due to fire at the factory. I have been experimenting with it and it seems to work fine, just needs tweaking to adjust the fence, etc. and operator adjustment (!)

Can anyone advise me: Which universal nails work with this model? How to stack nails for thicker mouldings? Anyone have a user manual they could copy to me? Any help appreciated. GM

I have had a look at the v-nails I have been using on my Euro 8000. They are actually made by Cassese and branded "Uni." They work great. Better in fact than the original Euro one I used when I first got the machine.

Hi MunnFrameworks
I'm looking for such parts. Here are a couple of photos of the parts needed for the Euro underpinner.
I'd appreciate a reply either way.
Thank you.
