I want to add here, that all 15 entries were very close in quality and creativity. This is an amazing group, and very tough to compete in. "If you come; don't bring your "B" game."

knockout piece!!! any details on the matting????
(as in closeups & what/how he did that???)

Your piece is FABULOUS, Baer! I WANT it! Congratulations, it is a well deserved prize.

Now, tell us how you made it.

All three pieces are terrific, but yours, Baer, is truly AMAZING!

You know what is wild about those pieces, I live here in east Tenn. and I have one of the north western indian pieces here in my shop. I have a little man who carries those works and had a few he wanted to put in my shop. I love them. They read like a toetum pole. Really interesting stuff!

I love yours Baer! You can really see why you are First place. You have a great talent for framing.

My hat is off to June and her piece...

Open "V" groove with the inner mat set 4-ply deeper.. and the wood "fillet" is a dowel stained to match the frame.

What you can't see is that in each of the corners is the little owl that is raised embossed under the suede of the mat. It was totally cool.

This was Molly and Larry's first time framing for a competition and that is a lot of yummy suede. I was lusting after the little fetish piece she stuck in there.

Hugh, I though you judged this in Orlando?
