I have recently ordered 5.000 postcards. Some of them I am going to mail out. Should I put them inside of envelopes, to avoid people to discard them right away, or mail them by themselves? I am afraid people is more inclined to dispose all the advertisment that does not come envelopes and their names on...or just send the postcard with the mailing label on... I am conducting a little survey, and I have asking people what they do with their mail and the advertisment and until now, look is half and half... I would like to hear the opinion of the grumblers, and the results when :help:they send the postrcards out

It depends on how you formated the postcard, size, etc. I often do the postcard as is for the impact factor. A great image or layout on the front can offer the best chance of it not getting tossed. Though recently I did a standard size, cheap postcard with no image on day-glo orange. It was an impulsive, cheap, wham bam thank you ma'am approach and it has paid off very well. The card before that was a large full color glossy with a great image on the front...very frameable IMO. Also a great response.

Here's what I do when I get the mail, and I think many others do as well...I could be wrong. I do a quick sort thru, if its in an envelope and it smells like junk mail, I don't even bother to open it. A card I always take at least a quick moment to scan. The only things I care about in envelopes are bills and checks.
