Entering Poster/Package Specials in Frame Ready

We have code tables and a sheet of bar codes set up for the package specials and access them through the ready made field, but they have to share that field with ready made frames. I need them separate for record keeping. Does anyone have a good solution for this? Calling Carol next week, but I thought I would gather some ideas first.

From what I recall you could set up the package just about anywhere in the software and then lock the price. Once the price is locked the item numbers could be entered in normal fields which would account for material's actual costs. I've tried out a couple of different POS softwares looking for one that can work properly with packages but have not found one worth using.

Frame Ready works really well for this as we have discounted drop-downs for the various package add-ons, but the main item, the base price of the package itself takes up the ready-made field, or rather shares it with ready made frames. We need to scan everything at our shop, although I do know what you mean about locking the price. Easy to do, but with 10 framers, we need to be more automated. I just need Bert to build us another field!

Couldn't you put the package prices in the "Extra" field or some other field where you can select multiple entries?

I got the perfect answer from Carol at Frame Ready. Use the Artwork drop down field and do work order searches by the category you need, and voila, you have sales totals for those categories. It was as simple as adding in Poster Special and Ready-Made into that list and eliminating the categories we don't need.

I also spent an hour with Bert on the phone this week discussing a few of our needs with regard to the program and taking his suggestions for using it. These people are just awesome! Really great support services.
