How about "pay weakly"
 
There are other things I look for when hiring.
All these I have listed, I have found to be seriously lacking to the point of termination in former employees of mine.

They are:
Honesty
Willingness to learn
Reliability
Basic competence in the craft
Common sense
Helpfulness
Self-motivation

Under pay - other (please explain)
I have a "bonus" system whereby certain jobs carry a "bonus".

We all have certain jobs that we just hate. These are usually put off, and put off, and put off until we are really desperate to get them done. By having a "bonus" applied to them, at least I can console myself by paying more on these when I can't afford to raise the pay across the board.

It makes me feel better, especially when there are a lot of these jobs!
