Electric Needle??

No, I'm not giving myself a tattoo! (Not that there is anything wrong with that!)

I get the strangest requests from customers. Guess they think we can get anything...

A good customer calls and asks where she can get an Electric Needle. Says it's used to test buttons to see what they are made of. Never heard of such a thing.

Any of you smart people got a thought??

There's a hydrometer(?) that has electric needles you stick into wood to gauge how wet it is. I think a good furniture maker supplier would have this item.

I know if you heat a needle and stick it into a button and you smell hair burning that the button is probably made of ivory. If it smells like burning plastic it is probably plastic or Bakelite.

2 thoughts as to what your customer is asking for!
