OOH OOH...Me likee!!! Thanks. BTW,one of the cons I attend has a metropolis robot sculpture as its art award...Hope I have room for ANOTHER one this round:D.......L.

Thanks for sharing. When did Metropolis come out by the way?
Nice treatments on those graphics!

1927. Some think of it as the "Blade Runner" of its time. Amazing promotional visuals abound for this film, check out this original poster from the Wikipedia blurb. The romantic wing of the Bauhaus boys really got crankin' on this film.

Just occurred to me that the girl in the second frame sure looks like Louise Brooks who was about contemporary with Metropolis, wonder if that was a deliberate choice in some promoter's fevered brain.

CRAZY COOL!!!
Love the Metropolis one........sorry I never heard of the movie before! But I love the frame job!!!

I have that second Metropolis poster in my house. The one from more so's link. It's 6ft tall and my husband has had it since high school. I don't go for silent movies usually (except The Gold Rush), but the visuals are incredible.

Love the Einstein mat. It has a sort of fractured reality, doesn't it? Leaping dimensions and all that jazz.

I have the sepia-toned Art Deco poster framed in a simple Nielsen at home, and, whenever we get a house, I'll get the large 6' print and frame it real nice. ^_^ Metropolis is one of my favourite all-time movies, and I recommend the Kino International version. Gorgeous, gorgeous. And Bridgett Helm was pure goddess in that film.

But I digress.

MabSadie, that's EXACTLY what I was going for. I'm such a nerd when it comes to Einstein, Ramanyugen, Klein, Kaluza, Micho, et al -- I love playing in other dimensions. ^_^

Arigatou, mina!
