So last night I was searching around the Interwebs and I stumbled upon a brand new copy, sealed in plastic, of an album I have been seeking for over 40 years. I need a new one because I played the old one down to a nubbin.

It was on Ebay, no problem, I bought something on Ebay a few years back (2005) so i had an ID and a password. Or not. Did not work, so I signed up to buy the thing as a "Guest." OK, gave 'em my charge card, picked out delivery schedule, no problem - a screen came on and said "print your receipt."

Well, my printer is unhooked here because I cannot keep buying stupid ink for it so I, stupidly, did not even save this info.

Then a screen comes up asking if I got their email. No, I did not. They resend it. Did not get it. So they offer me the option of using a different email. I had to give them my charge card info again (so they knew who I was?) and after all the backing and forthing the last email I received from them said, "Welcome to Ebay - are you ready to start shopping?"

The they show me a page with the album I was "looking at."

So did I already buy it or did I not already buy it?

There are no phone numbers to call to check.

And I do not want TWO of them.

Whaddaya think?

The seller has to have some form of contact info for them. Most likely just an e-mail and you can send them a question as to whether your transaction was successful. On a side note "No More Hats Lucy".

Well isn't that interesting - I found the same page through the same search criteria and it said the offer was "ended." So I guess, unless someone else happened to buy it in the middle of the night - I guess it is mine!

I hope.

Wrote down the item number - will see if I can contact the seller.

Thanks, Ricky - and I promise - no more hats!

Here's a little hint for whenever I play around on ebay or place an order anywhere..

I always do screenshots of the pages so i will always have that info somewhere on my computer.

If for some reason I don't get a confirming email I will always have a screenshot of the transaction with the order number.

After my transaction is all done and I have it in my hot little hands and it works as purported, then I will delete those shots. You can always print invoices later when you have the printer hooked up.

Buying through eBay is no problem with using PayPal for payment. If the seller is a crack, your payment is assured and the seller will never get back on eBay.

And making screenshots is keen. I always print PDF's from important info.

The seller in this instance seems to be a well-established store, not some crack-pot.

I usually just "save" the entire webpage but I was too excited with my find to think of that this morning.

I guess it would be prudent to email them to make 100% sure - it was not an auction item it was a "Buy it now" item and it appears to be gone....

It's mine!!!

I sent them an email starting out, "You are gonna think I am nuts...." and put the item number as the subject header.

A human being wrote back, adding "not nuts" to the subject line and then said it was paid by Paypal and on its way to me!

HUZZAH!!!

I was waiting for you to come along and ask, Rick. LOL!

It is Fraser and Debolt with Ian Guenther, from 1969 or maybe '70. A Canadian group, signed by Columbia - and what with one thing or another, they never made the big time although it is one of the msot critically aclaimed album from the period.

I just joined their Facebook group.

And there is a really good radio doc that the CBC did which you can listen to called An Overnight Sensation - here is the link:

Odd thing is, I just had my business partner Tina clean up and digitize my scratchy old album and I have been soaking in it all week.

But to have a fresh LP - wow!
