Hi, I'm wondering what would be a good material to use as a back for making easel back frames in 10x10 sizes. I checked with craft-Inc and they only offer 8x10 and 11x14 size. I plan to attach the easels I got from them but need a suitable material for th back. Thanks!

Not sure from the wording of your original post but sounds like you are asking about using 8x10 to 10x10 frames. If so and this is a budget job you can back the frames with cheap paper mat and fasten the 8x10 to that. I've done that when customer didn't care about appearance just function.

Why not use the metal ones? They fit every size.

I have those too but some of my clients prefer the traditional easel back. Some of my frame suppliers offer 10x10 table frames that are easel backed. I'm hoping to make my own from existing stock and want them to be similar.

Thanks for the idea. These would be to sell along with our 5x7 and 8x10 table frames so I wanted the look to be similar.

I have been looking at this thread with question marks coming out of my ears.

It sounds like these are for general retail and not for a specific client, which begs (at least to me) the question; why 10x10?

10x10 is an unusual size (to me) and I wouldn't think that ready mades in this size would have a use.

What do you put in a ready made 10x10? What am I missing here?

Through my Portrait studio we sell 8x8's and 10x10's on a regular basis. Those sizes are available through our industry framing companies as table frames. Unfortunately shipping costs from these companies make them a little pricey to sell since they only sell them with glass. I want to make up some of my own to replace the ones I can buy from other sources.

I (what I should have done in the first place) just Googled 10x10 frames and came up with 10 zillion hits.

I had just never heard of a standard sized frame being 10x10. Since I don't have a storefront anymore I guess I shouldn't care but I was just curious.
