I inserted a Dremel DVD into my computer. Not only will it not play, it's stuck in there and won't eject. When I go to My Computer, that program refuses to operate as well. After hitting Cancel on the Program Not Responding box, it takes a second but will return me to my home screen.

Now what??

Shut down and restart the computer, that will restart the drive.

If that doesn't work, a paperclip in the emergency release hole should manually pry it open :)

Yep, I jumped the gun on my question. :) Screwed my courage down and just closed out. It did indeed come back up and I could eject. Don't know about the little hole, but will investigate.

My DVD/CD player is rather touchy, and I always think I'm going to get into a loop and not get out. Sometimes it starts the reading, sometimes not.

Thanx for your help, as always!

mine has been limping along like this for 3-4 years---each 1st time I try to open, it wont, so I get out the clip and it 'usually' opens up---it MAY need a judicious application of finger nails in the slots to 'help' it open(a recent development---so I guess it's really getting time for a replacement unit and 10 min time!).
