Has anyone else received their free sample of "Dustite" wood glue from their Larson Juhl rep? I know, I know, you think static magnetic qualities sounds good on paper...great marketing, but does it work? Let me tell you it is the greatest thing to enter the custom frame world since the pneumatic underpinner! After using "Dustite" to join your mitres, fitting pictures is like a walk in the park. Seriously, the dust particles chase to the corners. You can actually watch them!!!!! Love to hear what the rest of you think.

My first thought was, what is a Larson Juhl rep?

I haven't seen one this year.

Sounds like a good idea, but I haven't had a problem with dust or specks since I bought my FramerLazer last September in Atlanta. It's a laser device, kind of like a green laser pointer, that you can tune to different frequencies to "zap" particles under the glass. So if you have a dark speck of lint, you just turn it to a frequency that the dark color will absorb and it vaporizes instantly. The only problem I've had with it was accidently tuning it wrong and hitting the white mat, leaving behind a small drak spot. Small learning curve, obviously.

It was a bit pricey at about $400, but worth every penny in time saved. Link to their website.

Haven't had much of a problem since I bought me this guard dog to keep the flumb pervert away.

Torchwood uses one of those!

Sure, it does chase black dust particles to the corner (upper right in the Northern Hemisphere), but, like any magnet with a north and south pole it pulls white particles to the lower left.

I don’t see any real advantage especially this time of the year.

This is an April Fools thread right? Magnets and lasers?

I hear ya, buddy.

P.S. The best piece of equipment I've gotten lately (except for the Wizard) is the Glacidout 5000. It sucks all the acid right out of the glass before you place it in the frame. It saves a lot of time and baking soda.

FramerDave:

I bought the same one in Vegas too and love it!

Also, I it works great for removing skin blemishes on humans (moles, birth defects and such). But please use at your own risk!

Not sure I can advocate that, but if we can use Super Glue to hold wounds shut, why not?
