Dust-Catching Shrouds/Prototypes

Improving the dust-collection system in our saw/join room. Hubby has dedicated vents behind saws and under sander connected to the vacuum system, but some dust still flies. He made foam mock-ups and is now replacing with the real thing.

For the saws:

There's a 'door latch' on either side of the saw shroud (see at left). It does something.

That saw shroud looks kinda like mine. It doesn't actually work all that well, but I don't use that saw too often either. Mostly just for cutting down the odd metal.

That sander dust catcher seems huge compared to the amount of dust actually created. My version is a fancy version of Rob Markoff's "envelope trick" that he uses to catch debris when drilling holes in walls. I'll try to post a picture of it tomorrow.
