Baer Charlton
SPFG, Supreme Picture Framing God
No this isn't a picture of when I was a little girl....
It's just the apple of a customer's eye.
We framed the picture about 12 years ago, and he never said anything, but he always hated the frame, and the mat "just" covered her toe.
So I "healed" the picture, printed a new one and framed it nice. He loves it. She's mid 20s now.
It just so happened that I was mounting Dupone silk several ways to try and figure out why so many people are having such a problem with this beautiful fabric.
The problem is if you touch the fabric with ANY kind of heat, the two different silks go to war with each other, causing little tiny blisters.
If you use Frank's method of wet mounting, no such problem arises. [or I should say, I haven't had any problems yet.]
The experiment continues. The test pieces are in my car....which has gone to the desert, the beachs, and to Timberline Lodge on top of Mt Hood.... still no bubbles.
Oh, yeah, the picture
LJ Acadamia frame, Frank's silk, Sterling TML111 fillet. Lineco barrier. Art care mat and backing. Museum glass [TV].
