BackwoodsFramers
True Grumbler
We are doing a reframe on a corporate piece that fell from the wall. We have repaired the frame, and received the new print. The original piece was dry mounted, a 30 x 50 photo on a 40 x 60 board. The photo retails for $1200.
Does it really need to be dry mounted? The client has no opinion on it, leaving it to our professional judgement. I am understandable nervous about mounting such a piece.
It seems to be quite an expensive piece to stick down. However, that is what the client had previously, and hinged, it won't be as flat.
If it is hinged, would it best to support it with more than just top hinges? Would one put mylar edge supports on the bottom?
If those in the know think it should be mounted, I think an outsource is in order. My 20 x 24 heat press would be just too dangerous, I think.
Opinions??
Many thanks.....Luann
