I'm in the process of moving my store location and setting up my new work room - YEA!! Beyond excited! Anyway, I would like some organizational ideas for the dry mount and laminate pieces that are left after we cut off from the roll what we need to use on a project (the pieces that are realistically large enough for use). Wondering how others deal with these to see if I can improve my methods.

That man is a genius. ;)

Of course sometimes you pick up the roll and all the bits fall out the end. :p

If you have a handy space (under the press?) you can fill it with old mailing tubes and stash the offcuts in them. The tubes, being round, create smaller spaces inbetween were you can put smaller bits.

the clever bit is putting it in the same tube, that way you cone mistakingly pick wrong film by mistake

what i do is plug one end of tubes, that way stuff tend not to fall out:-))

While I haven't used it for drymount or laminate cut-offs, I use this method very successfully for my digital papers.

Take 2 sheets of foamcore and hinge them together on the long side like you would book mount a mat. Add another strip to the outside of the closed package to make a strong joint. Put a few small strips of velcro on the opposite side to hold the folder closed. Now you can keep those large pieces flat and clean for future use. I make up one for each different paper we use. These store in a slot right next to matboards and other sheet goods.
