Hi all -

I have a new laptop since my current desktop is having issues. I have on my desktop Dreamweaver MX, but can't find the disk to put on my new computer. Luckily I registered the program, so I imagine I can retrieve the registration number if I need to.

Usually the easy way to get a program on my new computer is to download the 30 day trial, then just plug-in my registration number - but the 30 day trial on Adobe's website is no longer for MX, it's for the new CS... so...

Does anyone know where I can download Dreamweaver MX for free, then I can just plug-in my registration info? If you know - please private message me, or post here.

Thanks!
Chris

Hi Chris,

I don't see any sites out there that still offer the demo version of this product, or the version that came after it (Macromedia Dreamweaver MX2004).

"Adobe Dreamweaver CS3"(2007) is the current version of the product. Macromedia is no more. Adobe bought them out in April of 2005.

The license is probably valid only for the original pc, and not transferrable to a new one. I'd give them a ring to ask. If this is allowed, they'll likely offer you the 2007 version at a greatly reduced (upgrade) price. If you go this route, just ask to make sure it can be installed on a clean pc - and doesn't need to 'find' the old one first.

I use the product too, and love it. (the 2004 version)

Good luck!
Mike

I've got a copy of MX 2004 if you're interested.. I think I already deleted the original MX (from 2003 I think?).

Dreamweaver MX was pre-Adobe and if my memory serves correctly it didn't use network based registration for licensing. If this is right then you should be able to re-use the original license on a new installation of the product. It was kind of left to the user's honesty to not have more than one installation at any one time. Your challenge is going to try to find an old Dreamweaver MX install set. Jim is correct in that Adobe will try to upgrade you and they will also point out that ytour version of the product is no longer supported, but if you dig deep enough they might offer an installation CD for a minimal charge.
