Designer Metals:
First Ivy discontinued them. No more combining with woods for nice chop orders. Then Larson Juhl discontinued them. Ditto. Established an account to get chops directly from Designer. Every order so far has had some kind of problem, from back orders to wrong sizes.
Today we received the wrong size on a REPLACEMENT which had been the wrong size. Their phone people seem spaced out somehow. They write orders longhand, then make errors entering them into the computer later, so even something read-back and confirmed shows up wrong.
We like the "300's" series of powder-coated colors, and a couple of unusual shapes others don't have. Also, would like to be able to match previous framing for repeat customers. But, I swear it just doesn't seem worth it for the extra time and stunning aggravation level.
Can anyone give me a good reason NOT to throw away all their samples tomorrow?

Recycle the samples. It's premium aluminum, should get $.40/lb. or so. So, like Woodchuck, they aren't totally worthless!

I wouldn't put up with that crap for a minute. And, while you are at it, throw away all your La Marche samples, and then go after the Larson samples. Let's see-Who did we miss. Oh yeah, all the Bainbridge and Crescent samples. I know there are many more, help me out to remember all the poor suppliers like United and the rest.

Now try and sell something.
