Because we have been open less then two weeks, the surf shop up the road thought it would be great to give us a challenge, lol!

He has a very valuable jacked (and an 8x10ish info page) that he wants in a double sided frame. He wants to hang it on the wall, but be able to take it down and put the other side up when the mood strikes.

I have been busy reading up on the double sided jersey posts and I am getting some good ideas.

Does anyone know what hanging hardware can be used for the switch-a-roo?

Any other ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated. This will be one for the website for sure!!

Attach a Puka Shell necklace as a hang cord and hang on a hook. He can just flip it over whenever the mood strikes.

I agree... hang the jacket and create an openable front. Just reverse as desired.

Check out the article, "A Creative Garment Shadowbox", on page 32 of the April PFM. It describes how to make a shadowbox with a lift-off front. That's about the only way I know to build a shadowbox that opens/recloses and sell it profitably under $200.

That design uses aluminum composite material to make the box but it could be easily adapted to work with a any deep-rabbet base frame. Or, if you wish, I could cut the ACM panels and send them to you. Then you could fold them together to make the box and add the face frame.

There doesn't happen to be a link to it online by any chance? I have not got a PFM since we moved. :( I chanced my address online but they haven't shown up yet.

Everyone is talking about a frame that allows you access to the jacket . . .

But I read your original to say that they want the frame sealed, and to be able
to flip the frame..... hence the title "double sided / flip hanging hardware".

IF the jacket is a wet-suit (and I'm thinking it is) you need some 1/4-20 all-thread

From the surf shop, you need two "leash" ends....... no, Scout's leash is safe.

Insert the all-thread through the surgical tube of the leash until it makes the hook.
Pass the other end of the rod through holes in the frame, and put nuts on the ends.
Make sure the nuts are recessed into the frame, away from the glass.

The wall hooks can be the cheap bicycle hooks, or cast hands or feet....

This is also a great time for a hand carved frame of four "long guns", including
the skegs sticking out..... :D

We'll talk on Sunday at FI

Thanks Bear!

Not a wet suit, looks more like a regular jacket. I need to read the paper with the info on it, lol. He said it was very valuable.

He asked for a frame that flips. I'm not sure if he wants the jacket accessible, but I'm thinking not. I would like to present him several options!

See you Sunday! PS - Just talked with Dave, he had no clue where he was going, lol.

Why not have plate mounted eyebolts on the sides of the frame and brackets on the wall that engage the eyebolts?

Pick up the frame and flip it around and hang it back on the same hangers.
