As a recent convert to the world of Wizard use, I'm still on the uphill side of the learning curve. All the features built in to the software make for a lot of detail to pay attention to. That's why the obvious details of real-world physics sometimes take a back seat.
Today I had a job for a simple horizontal mat with two vertical openings the size of a newspaper front page. Got the setup designed on screen, no problem. Hit "cut"- bingo. Two beautiful openings sized and spaced just the way I had planned. Unfortunately, I had failed to make sure the matboard was seated squarely into the clamp rails, so the pair of openings is skewed within the overall size of the mat. D'Oh!
I know, this could have been avoided by having the machine cut the outside edge too. However, I had a piece of the color in stock that was big enough if I sized it myself. Of course now I'll have to order a new sheet anyway.
