A customer came in today to pick up her dog's at the poker table poster. The title is acually "Poker Sympathy". She wanted to go inexpensive for her game room.

I used B878503 cream Alphamat as the undermat, BA4841 Silken Bamboo Bevel Accent in the middle and B4070 Sunset Red chenille fabric top mat.

AR glass, vacuum mount on museum backer, painting chenille bevel Sunset Red, plus poster.

The frame was 35-3100-0336 (Williamson). This is the one that looks like a red candy cane. She doesn't like the gold around the outside of the frame because someone might stand to the side of the wall and look at the side of the frame. Therefore it will be painted Sunset Red.

Dog's playing poker cost over $550. She says she will bring in more art because her wall's are bare.

She never batted an eye at her inexpensive picture.

Did I do good for dog's playing poker?

I know I get excited over such things, but what I liked most is that the "artwork" stands out and the matting complements it and her house. Even though it seems like a lot of framing, it is unobtrusive.

I get awfully excited over life's small personal joys, even more than the money.

I have always said, "They don't pay us to like it; they pay us to frame it." I had a similar situation with a piece that came in in an Ikea frame, with the "art" cut to fit. I didn't hold back, and sold the guy $400 worth of framing for it. He didn't blink, and I gotta say, it looked GOOOOD when we were finished! And I like the money part as much as I like the presentation (Ta-DUM!)
