I am considering a new Artist for my shop. I love her stuff. I saw her in this months Country Living Magazine.

What I want to know is, Have any of you seen her work before or do you carry her stuff?

I just don't want to carry someone who has been out a long time and I've just missed it.

I mean, I don't want to order her stuff and then see it at Kirklands next week on the clearence rack!

It is beautiful stuff! If you haven't seen it, the web page is www.jenniferlanne.com

I'm just looking for something fresh and new!

I don't like her web page. Everything seems fuzzy. From the pictures I am looking at I couldn't say if she is good or not. I am sure she has done that so no one can copy her work. I think she has taken it a little to far.

I find these days it is very hard to sell art. If it wasn't for the custom framing side of the business........I am sure many would say the same thing.

To answer your question:
i have NEVER seen her work before!

but then again, i am in the U.P. of no-where

Maybe you HAVE stumbled on something new.
Keep your eye out for her work, while your at those furniture stores and such, too.

Jennifer: yeah, ytou probably will see her in Kirklands. Or Pier One. Or Michael's Or somewhere similar. Looks like some of the stuff in Haddad's, Modernart or one of them

Why not handle the folk that are in, say Art Business News or those kinda guys?

Come to that, you can rep my son's artwork but he retails for $4,000 to $7,000 and doubt he can get out of his contract with the gallery in Santa Fe

To be honest Mike, The area I am in doesn't really appreciate the finer artist. I wish they did.

East Tenn. is not, I'm sad to say, the Art captial of the world. We have an Art Gallery where they bring in Art from Nashville and I don't think people around here really get it.

I was just hoping for something different, that hasn't been printed and reprinted a million times over. And that didn't cost an arm and a leg!
Maybe one day, we can catch up with the rest of the world. Untill then, I just need to make a living on anything new and different.

You're right, Todd, Art isn't selling right now.
I just need something new for the windows! Thought her work was a little different and maybe a little trendie too.

Jennifer: just kiddin' around and beinng a smartypants.

I offered to display his work but evenbeing his father was told it would be against his contract with the gallery in Santa Fe.

I'm told Taos, SF, Las Vegas and Aspen is where the hot money is now. Dunno but I always thought it would be New York, Chicago, and other major cities.

But to addressyour problem: what about checking out Lieberman's online site as they often list what's the hottest and trendiest? Then you're only out a coupla bucks for poster art

I wrestle with this issue too about what to display. My answer is slowly coming down to "NOTHING
