I currently give a 10% discount on their next framing order to anyone who sends me a new customer. I was thinking of raising this to 20%. How much is enough? I would like to draw new customers after the holidays, seems to always slack off at that time, and was thinking the bigger discount would be an atractive incentive. What do you think?

If we were to offer the discount, I would probably give them a gift certificate for $25. It would seem more tangible than a percentage off.

People who are going to recommend you to their friends/relative/co-workers are going to do it anyway, so don't get carried away.

If they hate you, 20% isn't going to help.

A nice note with a modest gift certificate is a good gesture.

Gift certificates sound better than what I'm doing now. I guess I never thought about it much before. Would probably be cheaper also in the long run than a percentage off. Thanks for the suggestions.
