I know that there was a thread about a year on this, but I would like try it again. Since it is diploma season, why not post some of your favorite diploma designs? What are you doing for promotion? Facebook? Linked In? Mailings? Let's face it, there will always be diplomas to frame. However with BB's and mass diploma framing companies, we need to be savvy in our tactics. Anybody want to share?

Here are a few examples from the article in the February issue of PFM.

This design can be made in any combination of cutting, v-grooving, debossing, and/or inking. It can be made in any 2-color combination, or in one color, as subtle or kick-in-the-head bold as the customer wants. Since the fall-out parts can be interchanged, there is no waste. If the fall-out part is inlaid instead of placed above or below the other mat, it has the depth of a single mat layer.

I'm making ready-cut interior and exterior mat parts that can be combined in any color combo to fit 8-1/2" x 11" diplomas in a selection of ready-made frames, but the design can be scaled for any size document. Of course, I'm using mostly local school colors for the ready mades.

With Conservation Clear glass, alpha cellulose museum grade mats, edge support (non-invasive, reversible) mounting, a $1.50/ft. (cost) moulding, and Fletcher Wireless hangers, I can get one of the ready-made combos out the door in about 15 minutes.

What do you think I should charge for this design?

How many minutes did it take to cut the mats?
I guess I would charge the minutes X's what you normally charge for your time + mat size. If you have an employee you can charge for their time + the mat size.
Or you could charge twice the price of a regular double mat.

Looking at the ones we have done over the last two years here is what I have found about my customers

As far as high school diploma's go. We seem to have a price barrier of about $50.00 TO $85.00..
College Diplomas Range all over the board it depends on the degree from $75.00 to $295.00 most of them in the $125.00 range.
