Anyone in, or familiar with, the Las Vegas area that can recommend a couple of places for upscale dining? Will be there for 3 nights and would like to find a couple of special places. Any time we can spend at fine dining should delay how quickly our casino funds are depleted! Show or entertainment recommendations would be welcomed as well.

Nobu at The Hard Rock is incredible. It is Asian Cuisine. If you really want a great experience, let them choose for you. They will bring out several dishes that will complete a full palette of tastes. Best to make a reservation now. You can probably Google search them and find out more. You will not be disappointed.

My wife and I went to see the "Blue Man Group" at the Luxor. It was amazing! We have since recommended it to friends and they have all enjoyed it.

To eat try "Nobhill" in the MGM Grande, probably listed on their website.

If you are into wine the Aureole at the Mandalay Bay is something to behold... check their site as well.

A little simpler fare, but very good is something like the 5 fine irishmen.... it's in New York New York. January may be a little chilly for one of the balconeys . . . but it was nice in Oct.

We kind of wished that there was a restraunt in the upper sanctum of the Luxor . . . where it was so NICE and quiet. And no kids.

Where do those seas of kids come from? Don't they have homes?

We loved Zeffirino's at the Venetian. They plucked this families resturant right out of Italy.

Las Vegas is full of excellent restaurants, and it's hard to say any one of them is better than the others on any given day.

That said, the Picasso Restaurant in Bellagio is at the top of my list. Take lots of money, and be ready for an incredible dining experience. The food & service are exceptional, but it's worth the price just to be in the same room with all those original Pablos.

Nobu is great. I usually go there every time I visit Vegas. Picasso is excellent. I believe its a five star rated resteraunt. That would be my second choice. Smith and Wollenskys is a good steak house also on the strip. The palm in the ceasers shopping center is pretty good also.

By the time I am done gambling I end up at Subway or a bag of chips. I reccomend Lay's chips. You can't have just one.

Ohhh, nice thread! I'm going there second week of February... by not going during the framing show I'll SAVE money, kidding

I've never been there, but what we plan on is dinner at Delmonicos which is Emeril Lagasse's steakhouse and was rated as the best. Also lunch one day at Olives at the Bellagio because I want to eat at one of Todd English's places.

From what I understand the buffet at the Rio was supposed to be the best but they have recently gone downhill and have been supplanted by the Bellagio's. During peak times the buffet at Mandalay Bay was supposed to be "best undiscovered buffet."

The real reason we want to hit Bellagio's buffet is because they have kobe beef and I've never sampled it - so why not go for all you can eat. That stuff is more expensive than framing! hehe

Finally, we're going to go for a steak dinner at Binion's Ranch on Freemont Street because we want a "retro Vegas" experience.

Well, that's our hard plans for dining, but like I've said we've never been there. I hope you can get something out of it.

I'll probably take a lot of ribbing for this one, but the Star Trek exhibit at the Hilton, where the WCAF show will be, is great if you're an old time trekkie fan, and there is a pretty good restaurant at the end of it, "Quarks Bar". I've gone several times and never get tired of the experience.

"Where do those seas of kids come from? Don't they have homes?"

I totally agree. We went this summer to get away from ours.
Also...the fine irishmen is great. Ride the Manhattan Express while you are there! It will give you a mild coronary!

P.S. Stay AWAY from Craftsteak at the MGM...overpriced and the steak tastes like it was marinated in dirty wash water.
