Did you update your prices?

OK, I just ran my updates and with Lifesaver I did the new program up dates.

I had to change the properties on my computer to get it to come up, and now everything , I mean everything, is smaller. I am going to have to get glasses.

Did anybody else have to do this?

I am going to love the new up dates but it is going to take some getting use to. My mother will have a fit, she can't see very good anyway.

Anybody have any suggestions for getting around this and making everything bigger and still being ablt to get Lifesaver up or is this just the way it is?

Jennifer

Jennifer:

Do you mean LifeSaver updated the prices or it updated LifeSaver itself?? Or both??

Either way, none of them should change anything!

I had a program update last week, I believe, and nothing changed. I am using the Tru-vue version though.

If you're using the regular version and there was a program update and these things happened after the program update, then contact LifeSaver tech support and tell them what happened.

Hi Jennifer

You're in for a treat! They changed the ticket screen to 1024 resolution back in version 3.07 (March 4, 2004), and added many new features. It didn't become mandatory until 9/05 (any Tru-Vue version), or version 4.26 (Feb 21, 2006) for the rest of us. The current version is 4.29.

When they increased it to fill the full 1024 screen size, they also scaled up the size of the fonts. The result should look pretty good for folks converting from the 800x600 world. You'll also notice improvements when using the web, since most pages are now designed for 1024.

If you find that the text size of the web is smaller than you'd like, click the VIEW pulldown menu and then select TEXT SIZE. There are 5 sizes to choose from. (shortcut: hold CTRL on keyboard, and spin the wheel on your mouse for the same result)

If you still find it difficult to see other programs at the standard 1024 size, you can go in to tweak the appearance within the Windows control panel.

While the standard has gone up to 1024, the industry has also been producing larger monitors. (13-15" CRT/tubes used to be the standard, now most people get 17-20" LCD/flat screen or CRT). The dot pitch ratio has also improved, which means the newer monitors have a much sharper picture at standard resolutions of 1024x768, 1280x1024, or 1600x1200. Going larger and clearer is a final and more costly solution.

I hope these tips are helpful
Best regards,

Mike

I don’t have a POS, but I updated my prices three weeks ago – thanks to L-J and Bob Doyle.

Larson-Juhl places it’s prices online, but “encrypts” them as an .exe file so us MacAddicts cannot open them without help from Windoze users.

Thanks again, Bob!

watch for updates in other areas too, like Bainbridge, Neilsen, etc. Did mine a coupla weeks ago to get a "jump" on profits for the month

Is LJ's actual price increase size a secret? Nobody seems to really be hurt or alienated by it. When was last time JL's price went up and by how much? In general, what do you call a fair price increase and how far apart in time would such marks be placed?

Cornel, I don't think there would have been a fixed percentage increase across the board. Some prices may be unchanged and a few may have gone down.

Honest, I've seen it happen!
