Is it just me, or did the speedmount people change their formula?

The surface used to be somewhat fuzzy. Now it's more smooth/sticky-ish
And the dwell time has changed from 30 seconds to 1 to 2 minutes. (according to their new charts)

I dont mind the change yet, but I was just wondering if anyone had noticed?

I am about to mount twlo large photographs, soft gloss, with black backgrounds. I dread the possibility of orange peel. We won't use release board because that makes it worse, but I have yet to decide on Speedmount.

Isn't there another board advertised to eliminate the orange peel effect?

Kool Tack and Perma Lon release boards.

Call Frame Specialties, 800-777-3165 to find a distributor near you.

Perfect Mount. Works great.

Back in the day, the makers of Sintra suggested you use 3M ProSpray. It worked great too. Until you couldn't get it.

There is a place in Texas that has the Sintra mount boards with Perfect Mount pre-applied. They also have MDF boards with a peel and stick for canvas. Foam boards, Gator foam, etc.

They are geared toward Photographers. The boards come pre-cut to standard photo sizes. And can be a little pricey.

It is more cost effective to buy the Perfect Mount and apply it to your own substrates.

KOOL TACK ROCKS!!! I just got in 3 ultra high gloss photos, cityscape with a deep blue skyline, size 38 x 38, tried the Kool Tack for the first time, and it's MARVELOUS!!!

I will be using it for most everything now.

Kooltac will not cause orange peel. Good stuff.

They have a terrible web site. Gryphon in CA no longer carries their products. Does anyone on the west coast have a source?

I'll call the company tomorrow.
