Corel Draw is a very powerful program. Your request is a lot like asking how to rebuild an automatic car transmission.
I started playing in Corel Draw X4 about a year ago when I bought my new CMC and wanted to convert my company logo to a cut file. I started with a high-resolution scan and traced it as a "detailed logo" with good results. I needed to touch up some of the lines, and reduced the number of nodes considerably. Since then I have imported and converted several sports logos and decorative designs, and created some.
When you have the design as you like, save it in the appropriate file format.
For a good start, click on Help in the top menu bar and select Tutorials. Also check out Insights From The Experts. After you get started, you can search the Help index and get specific information about whatever you need. For example, if you want to kow how to combine two drawn lines into one, search for "lines", and then follow the outline down to "combine".
I am by no means an expert in Corel Draw X4, but have learned enough about the basics to serve my purposes and save the designs as .PLT files for my CMC.
It's fun to cerate a design by starting with a line and pulling the nodes around, but it is time consuming and the learning requires patience. I suggest setting aside several hours of uninterrupted time, a bottle of decent wine, and maybe some cheese & crackers to aid the effort.
