Yesterday, on the Wizard thread, I insulted Dermot. I didn't mean to, but I offended him just the same. I've already apologized privately to Dermot and this is my public act of contrition.

Dermot is often the first to offer help and suggestions. His record for accuracy is probably no better or worse than everyone else's. It does seem to me that he apologizes a lot more than he needs to, and that is what I was teasing him about. Guys like me, who have a lot to apologize for, rarely do. (You might want to bookmark this thread.) I'm sorry, Dermot.

There has been discussion about the lack of participation on The Grumble by the vendors in our industry. WizardEdd has been an active and constructive contributor to this forum. It appeared to me that he was going to be buried in requests for Jay Goltz's guide from people who simply aren't going to get one.

I'm not suggesting we can't ask our vendors the hard questions. And the contrast between trade laws in the U.S. and Ireland is actually an interesting topic, but not one I think Edd should be expected to address. Plus, as Michael pointed out, his original question was lost in the shuffle.

I'm not trying to make myself the defacto moderator of this forum - "no one" is doing an perfectly adequate job of that. And, while I like horses and riding, the really tall ones frighten me a little. (It's a fear of heights, not of horses.)

I don't object to being reminded that policing The Grumble is not my job. It's only my hobby. ;)

Okay boys, lets get that Grumblers handshake that was posted over on warped. We will have an international across the seas handshake. Not only will it be good for the Grumble but it will be good for mankind! Now lets either have a handshake or you will have to kiss and make up! Yuck!

Now you have me embarrassed I was only given back a bit of what I got there was no harm done, my skin is too thick.

I have to say the result of the troublesome thread was interesting Edd was able to clear up my misinterpretation of what was on offer, question is when can I afford a CMC, sorry I will rephrase that how can I build a CMC into my business plan, that’s the way to think I learned that in New York at one of the classes I took, create the need and progress from there, Jay’s answer was super it finally got this COG thing clear in my mind I was not fully sure how to handle the labour part of COG, that one is important as it has tax implications in Ireland, I love Jay’s ability to say so much with so few words, I wonder if he has any lessons or classes on that one.

OK to avoid an international incident and god knows the US have enough of them at present hear goes…

Ron’s hand….USA…………Dermot’s hand Ireland
shake………..shake………shake……….shake…….shake………..shake………shake.

Forget it if you think your getting a kiss………your out of luck it’s not my week for boys.

Oh Golly! I'm just tearing up so much! (Gotta get more Kleenex)

This is such a tender moment that maybe we should all just leave these two alone for a few minutes, eh??

Dermot,

If you and Ron aren't through, I'll just interrupt for a moment.

The class you want is Jay Goltz' (or is that Goltz's) class on pricing. This is the class that will answer all the questions you have been raising here. It is presented in a sequential, concise, clear manner that is appropriate for the novice to the advanced framer. With the background you already have, you will be completely up to speed the minute you leave this class.

Now you and Ron can get back to it.

It's okay, Mel. We're done. The great thing about fighting with Dermot is he doesn't appear to hold a grudge. In fact, if you don't check The Grumble often, you may have missed it altogether.

My wife, on the other hand, can be mad at me for a week or more and I'll have no idea why. She'll be so mad at me, she won't even tell me why. She's not even Irish! The next time that happens, I'll probably assume she logged onto The Grumble and read this post.

I will say that making up with my wife is a lot more satisfying than making up with Dermot, but I'm still glad Dermot's not mad any more.

Ron,

I wasn't fooled; I've observed Dermot long enough to know he is a normal Irishman (See Po', I can say "man"). As a woman with a majority of Irish blood, I know that when we flair, we're quick about it.

Maybe your wife is German? Oh dear. I'm not only off subject, I'm probably going to get it for being non-cp in the nationalism arena.

Over to you, Po'.
