Yesterday, on the Wizard thread, I insulted Dermot. I didn't mean to, but I offended him just the same. I've already apologized privately to Dermot and this is my public act of contrition.
Dermot is often the first to offer help and suggestions. His record for accuracy is probably no better or worse than everyone else's. It does seem to me that he apologizes a lot more than he needs to, and that is what I was teasing him about. Guys like me, who have a lot to apologize for, rarely do. (You might want to bookmark this thread.) I'm sorry, Dermot.
There has been discussion about the lack of participation on The Grumble by the vendors in our industry. WizardEdd has been an active and constructive contributor to this forum. It appeared to me that he was going to be buried in requests for Jay Goltz's guide from people who simply aren't going to get one.
I'm not suggesting we can't ask our vendors the hard questions. And the contrast between trade laws in the U.S. and Ireland is actually an interesting topic, but not one I think Edd should be expected to address. Plus, as Michael pointed out, his original question was lost in the shuffle.
I'm not trying to make myself the defacto moderator of this forum - "no one" is doing an perfectly adequate job of that. And, while I like horses and riding, the really tall ones frighten me a little. (It's a fear of heights, not of horses.)
I don't object to being reminded that policing The Grumble is not my job. It's only my hobby.
