Dennis Mathewson frames... I don't have these samples but would like to get them.
For those of you who have been carrying them how well do they sell? Are the samples
expensive? I know ... I'm a bit behind the times on this one. :popc:

DM is a well designed, large, and well made line for a very limited market. If you have that market, it can be a gold mine. I have had limited success with Tattoo artists. I have 4 shops that I frame for and none have selected DM for any of their personal framing. I have sold some to their customers, but not enough to justify the cost of the samples...yet.
Just to be clear, Direct Moulding has been nothing if not accommodating, and I have the samples prominently displayed. The Tattoo shop next door has the leading Tattoo artist, according to social media, in the region. I guess I just haven't found the market.

I have not made the time to cold call tattoo or motorcycle stores but I believe I should have success if I tried. They have one that has part of a flag ...like Stars and Stripes ... That should be a good seller. Also the barbed wire for cattle / ranchers.

I have not sold any, but almost everyone looks at them and says you know, may be next time.

The only downside is some have a narrow rabbet, but that is easily fixed as long as you are aware of it during the design stage. Look under some of the posts under the grumble name Black Iris and you will see some great designs with DM

I have them prominently displayed. I have sold them a few times. Not enough to cover the sample cost and certainly not enough to justify the prominent wall placement. The only reason I keep them is because the catch everyone's attention. They comment on them and open the discussion on the varied ways to custom frame. It's just too specific of a style. I agree, if you have the market they should do well.
