Problem Decor Quality!

I have had it! I just got to sound off and get it out of my system. I always bought Decor in length until recently the trucking company has stopped servicing this area. I looked into other avenues but then I'm talking $65 and up for a delivery, that defeats the purpose of getting in the length. So I have had to resort to getting chops. That's all well and good but I swear with almost every order there is an issue with one of the frames. I have to get on the phone order a replacement, wait for it come in, then pack up the damaged frame with the call tag and send it back. This in turn puts me behind schedule not the mention the foul mood I get in. So now I have had 3 frames in two weeks I have had to have replaced. The customer service actually said I should inspect all my chops on delivery! Yes open up all the wrapped chops look at them and then wrap them up. I retorted thats your job, that is what I am paying chop prices for! So I call my Rep, great guy and the only reason I have put up with all this, to find out they "Let him go"! That's it, I'm done! They are coming off the wall! I thought the merger with Southern would help but apparently not. OK I think I feel better, for now or till open up another chop from them. :fire:
 
I was thinking along with the merger that we would see some of Southern Mldg. mouldings but was told they will not be showing them here.

It seems like their moulding is going south but not vice versa.

I have replaced most of my best sellers with Studio. I used to use 2-3 boxes a month of 3/4", 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" flat black from Decor. After too many quality issues to mention, I switched everything I could to Studio about 2 years ago. Good decision.

There are still some mouldings that I use from Decor and some are good. But the bad ones.......................:fire::mad::fire:

Have never seen a Decor rep. I have seen my Studio rep twice in the last 6 months.
 
Carried Decor for 6 years. Never seen a rep either. Quality a constant issue. Whenever (and it's often) I have a problem I just hate picking up the phone for help. 800 numbers cost by the minute and they LOVE to save money by getting you off the phone as quick as possible. Such a hassle! Wish they would handle problems like LJ. Very quickly and NO HASSLE!!

I should do the same and pull them off the wall. I could use the space for someone who cares.

The older I get the less I put up with incompetence!

Other than this I think they are fine! LOL
 
I don't use Decor so I can't comment about their quality.

I primarily use Studio and Roma and I do my own chopping so I control my quality.

With Studio If I'm ordering one or two frames, I can get straight cuts, so shipping is minimal (generally $9.00 to $10.00 which I charge to the customer), and if it is over $65.00 (or is it $75.00?) shipping is free on straight cuts.

Studio also has some moulding that comes in 7' boxes that can be shipped UPS.

With Roma, I can order half sticks, and if I order full lengths and have them cut 5 and balance, and ship by Fed-X, they don't charge the extra shipping for over 5 feet [their 10 feet sticks are really 3 meters, so half is slightly less than 5 feet. Again, shipping is around $10.00.]

Of course if you need it cut 6 and balance, you do have the extra oversize charge, so it is closer to $18.00 which is harder to explain as a charge to the customer.
