Jay, thank you. It's great to occationally be reminded of the humanity side of life.

The American and English saying is "All work and no play makes Jack." (Jack is slang for $$$)

The 3,000 yr old Chinese saying is something more like 'Heaven is not aquired by money, but kindness' or the Cantonese version of 'Life is not about work and money'.

I remember that dimestore. In our town it was the Pinion Book Store.

Baer, As an Englishman resident in Scotand I feel obliged to point out that the expression is actually "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". Pray pardon my intrusion old boy allow but I do not feel it right introduce 'filthy lucre' into the more finer points of our quaint terminology. Forget all about 3000 year old chinamen put your trust in the lingo Americano.
