We have a pettipoint to frame (photo attached) that is not a real oval and therefore can't be cut on our machine. Is this something that can be done by computerized mat cutter? We would cut it by hand but it is a triple mat (we will be wrapping each one with fabric). The ID is approximately 10" long and ranges from approximately 2 1/8" wide top and bottom to 5" wide in the middle. We could send a copy of the needlework since it is small. If anyone can do this for us please e-mail and let us know.

Thank you!

A quick visual analysis shows that that this is two ovals connected by a rectangle. Ah, if I only had a pencil, I could draw you what I mean... and sure, it would be easy to replicate on a CMC.

I don't know, Ellen. From the picture (which is small and grainy, so hard to tell for sure) it doesn't look like the sides are ever straight. I'd say it's truly an oval. I know on my Eclipse, once I select an oval corner, I can go in and adjust the x & y values to elongate it that way. I don't know if Wizard will do the same thing, but I'd bet it does. It requires digging a little further than entering an opening size and corner style.

What CMC do you have? That info may get you better assistance from someone who has that particular machine.

My Keencut Oval 6 would do that too, but it would take two or three attempts while getting the leaning oval correction adjustment right, otherwise you don't get a pefect oval with such a wide difference between the two axis.

I would expect that quite a few trailing blade type oval mount cutters can be adjusted to cope with this.

An F-1100 could handle it easily! Found this one out by trial(funny no "error" part to this one).I had the machine for exactly one day, used and was "playing" with it..Decided to see how long of an oval I could squeeze out of the thing.Set it for an approx 4x9"(if memory serves),Gritted my teeth grabbed the handle, dropped the blade ...and nailed it! Great machine!Ended up using the result too. It`s on the site under Feather art(golden eagle). L.R. (www.prism-studios.org)

Thank you all for your responses. We posted and then went on vacation thinking that we would be back online shortly. But with luggage lost, our promised internet access nowhere to be found in the villa we rented we just today got back online. What a relief! It is hard to imagine how we every managed before the internet days!

Is anyone willing to undertake cutting such a mat for us? It is a triple mat so it would probably be easiest done on a CMC. Please e-mail us at cagallery@aol.com for quickest response.

Thank you!

I thought I would bump this up now that everyone has returned from the shows. Anyone willing to cut two triple mats for these? I imagine if done by CMC it should be easy once shape is done to duplicate. Please e-mail us at CAGallery@aol.com. We need to get mvoing on this.

Thank you!
