Soon as I opened this morning was waiting on one customer who was having me redo her "M" frame job because she hated the combo she was talked into!

Had another new customer come in with three items to be framed, so while I was helping customer #1 she was free to look thru corners and mats. By time I was done with #1, #2 had all but made her choices , (I suggested a fillet on 1 pc.) She gave me her credit card # and said call me. Gave her a call an hour later and OKed! $1,100.00 sale. Cool!

PS She choose LJ Antica for her 2 of her poster. Not your average $59.95 poster special customer.

That's great.

Doesn't it amaze you that they don't take it back to "M" and complain?

Poster special - very special!!

I'm envious!!

I really like Antica. I've used it once now, in the wider profile, to frame a poster of Rembrandt's Return of the Prodigal Son. And I'm using the narrower profile to frame a drawing of a Western-style boot. You gotta love a moulding that can be used equally well on both Rembrandts and cowboy stuff.

I have redone matting from M jobs a few times.

Seems people are willing to put up with a frame they don't like if we can make it look better with our matting.

Congrats, j Paul. That must have made your day!

Customer #1 in this story didn't even like the frame "M" put on let alone the triple mat colors.
(I didn't say an unkind work about their design but layers 2 & 3 both had a 1/4" reveal / repeitive and ugly) Frame didn't do anything for the piece either. Ask her if she wanted frame and mats back but she said throw them out. At least I could reuse the glass for her.

It makes you wonder, doesn't it John. How many new customers can you go through... that won't be back.

Had one like that... they came directly from Michaels... directly. ...

First it started with... we don't like the two bottom mats... which then moved to "is a 3" on the top, 6" on the sides and 2.5" on the bottom right?"

then once we had the print out of the frame . . . she asked that fateful question "what would you have done?"

$280 later, [we reused their glass] they were surprised and happy. They lived 4 blocks away and thought we just might be very expensive...

We would have been $20 more, than Michael's because they had a 40% off... I pointed out the fine print that said "Moulding".... but they still charged you to cut and join it...
